Workers on our garage project have installed the windows and doors and are working on the siding. We are using a fiber-cement lap siding to match the home. The first thing that goes on the wall is a water and wind membrane…in this case a Tyvek product. This seals the wall against any bulk moisture from the exterior and lets water vapor pass through it. The corners are trimmed with fiber-cement corner boards. The lap siding will meet the corners creating a durable, attractive termination. We applied pre-finished metal over the wood at the roof overhangs and fascia….creating a long term, trouble-free detail.
