Work at our Northfield West side addition has moved along very nicely in the past week. The exterior painting is just about completed and the interior drywall has been finished. We are now working on installing the interior trims. We are matching the woodwork trims on the windows and doors. It is a fairly common trim system, using flat casings, shaped plinths and a cornice molding at the doors. We are mainly using poplar materials as the trim will be painted to match the existing interior trim.
We are installing 3″ fir flooring in the second floor room. The flooring was nailed in place and sanded and finished on site. Doing site finished wood floors takes a bit longer but the end result is very nice and blends in well with the existing floors.
