The laundry and bath remodeling project we started some days ago has moved along very nicely. We completed the framing last week and the mechanical and electrical systems have been installed. Piping and duct work is always a challenge in an older home like this. This home also uses ducts for air conditioning but has copper piping for the hot water heat.
We installed new windows in the bathroom and the laundry room. The architect selected double hung style windows which are in keeping with the home. We used Marvin windows and ordered them with flat exterior casing to match existing windows.
The new shower will be lined with ceramic tile. Located on the northwest corner of the house, we have added rigid insulation to improve the overall insulation rating for the shower walls. We will install fiber cement underlayment over the rigid wall insulation, and pour a cement base over the floor insulation.
