Today we have the final inspection for our whole house remodeling project. Very shortly the owners will move in an occupy their ‘new’ house. This has been a fun project. We worked with an architect to remedy some of the issues the clients wanted to correct, including installing an entirely new stairway to the lower level. The new stairway incorporates red oak treads and risers. We also installed new red oak flooring throughout most of the main level of the home. The area around the fireplace was rebuilt and ceramic tile was added for a hearth.
The kitchen was completely renovated, with new cabinets, stone countertops and appliances. The new lighting makes the work areas much brighter and pleasant. We also constructed a new bathroom that incorporates a pedestal style lavatory sink. The ceramic tile in the bathroom extends from the floor to the ceiling, which give a warm feeling to the room.
A whole house remodeling project like this is a challenge. This one was made easier in that the owners were not occupying the residence while we performed our work.
