We’ve had good weather for our east side residential addition project. The foundation was installed quickly, water barriers installed, and the site backfilled and restored to grade. The carpenters have been busy framing the kitchen addition.
One of the tasks we had to do on this job was match the brick veneer on the existing foundation. Matching existing materials is one of the biggest challenges when remodeling on older homes. I think it is important to keep the architectural detail of existing homes intact when the homes are expanded. We managed to get a very good brick match on this project. The bricklayer mixed color into the mortar so the foundation ties together very nicely. When the stucco is applied to the walls one will hardly know where the existing foundation stops and the new foundation starts.
