The Minnesota Correctional Facility at Red Wing has a high school on site. This allows young people that are at the facility to continue their education. Northfield Construction Company was hired to make various interior upgrades to the school. Our work mainly consisted of plastering ceilings, installing new lighting and acoustical ceilings, installing new doors and hardware, new carpet and base, painting, etc.
The existing lockers in the hallways were in decent shape but after nearly 50 years of use had some scratches and chips. We used electro-static painting to paint the lockers and make them look fresh and nice again. The classrooms with new carpet, lighting and paint were much brighter and pleasant when we were done. The school staff arranged for new casework to be made by prison inmates at another location. It was excellent casework and should serve the school well for decades to come.
