On Monday we installed new concrete walks at the Wells Fargo bank project. The walks were needed to provide access to the new front entrance installed earlier. Minnesota’s climate can be tough on concrete. The existing concrete was cracked in many places and joints had shifted. We used expansion joints and control joints in an effort to keep this new concrete intact for many years. We also installed a frost protected foundation beneath the stoop in front of the new entrance doors. This concrete stoop is totally isolated from the rest of the concrete walks. The foundation prevents it from shifting up due to freezing soils, or from sinking due to settling soils.
We are moving along on work inside the building as well. Most of the mechanical and electrical work above the ceiling has been completed. New suspended ceilings are being installed, and painting is being finished.
